1. FEED

ARCHITECTURAL
BACE Architects develop building footprint and agree site location. Determine room layouts to suit building type and client requirements. Produce outline specification, preliminary plans, sections and elevations for approval.

HVAC
BACE Engineers produce HVAC system flow sheets, preliminary equipment layouts incorporating indicative services routes. Preliminary design philosophy.

STRUCTURAL
During FEED, BACE structural engineers determine preliminary sizing of primary structure, meeting requirements such as blast resistance, snow and seismic loads. BACE normally also provide an outline structural specification.

2. DETAILED DESIGN

ARCHITECTURAL
The architectural group liase with the Client and the particular disciplines/companies providing services and equipment within the buildings. BACE will produce general arrangement drawings (plans, sections & elevations), specifications and details of each building. These will be fully co-ordinated with HVAC and electrical services for the building incorporating process and mechanical plant etc.

HVAC
In Detail Design stage, BACE HVAC determines HVAC plant and ensures it fits within the space available. We meet safety standards for equipment, such as electrical and instrument air standards, ensure that minimum air change rates and pressurisation are created, and specify shutdown systems in co-ordination with the Client's Instrument and Safety engineers. BACE provide an HVAC specification, data sheets, equipment schedules, general arrangement and detail drawings. Tender packages can be produced depending on the requirements for Client/BACE procurement.

STRUCTURAL
During Detail Design stage, BACE structural engineers determine sizing of all building structure and supports, meeting requirements such as blast resistance, snow and seismic loads. BACE provide a structural specification and complete drawings, co-ordinated with plant and machinery in the buildings. Access platforms and structures for building services are also integrated in our design.

3. MODELLING

BACE uses Bentley's "Triforma Suite" of CAD modules to develop fully co-ordinated, intelligent models and to produce 2D deliverables and material take-offs (MTOs). This state of the art technology improves our efficiency and workflows. Triforma has been proven to interface with PDS software, the favoured choice for the majority of EPC firms

4. CLASH DETECTION

BACE realises the importance of clash checking building designs. We run several checks throughout the design phase, incorporating client models from all disciplines in order to achieve clash-free construction in the field. This minimises costs for re-work and ends costly schedule delays.

5. VALUE ENGINEERING

BACE aims to deliver cost-effective design solutions which are fit for purpose. We do not compromise on safety.

6. PROCUREMENT

Specialist procurement personnel, aided by the discipline specialists, provide full procurement of building materials, services and plant down to the last nut and bolt. For larger projects we use the services of specialist contractors through an alliance contract. This gives Clients the confidence that procurement will be carried out on time and to Client requirements. Such companies are particularly selected because have the experience and manpower necessary for the Clients' project.
